Who Are These People ?

We’re people who shoot video and pictures. People who tell your story in ways that keep your audience from looking away.

People who work for you by working with you.

Give us a call and you’ll have our attention. Think of us as your cabinet, your Secretary of Great Messaging. We’re technicians, sure—well versed in the nuts and bolts of lenses and lighting and everything else associated with visual communication—but we’ve also got our eyes on the horizon. We’ll help you look ahead and see something you might not have known was there.

You’re good at what you do. So are we. Just think how good we could be together.

What Exactly Do You Do?

In the most simple terms, we capture images. Still ones and moving ones. But there’s a little more to it than that. There’s the script, camera, talent, locations, craft service (craft what?!), format, frame rates (what are frame rates?), editing, color grading and the beauty of all this is that you can leave all this—or any part of it—to us. Because that’s what we do. If you have ducks, we’ll get them in a row.

Louis Pasteur once said that “Fortune favors a prepared mind.”  And it’s why we can’t overstate the importance of pre-production. That’s a smart and cost-effective way to make sure the finished product is just what you hoped for—and more.

And craft services, by the way, just means snacks. Everyone loves craft services.

Why Gate House Again?

Because we’re inventors and magicians. Artists and alchemists. Trackers and trappers. Shamans and mundunugus (ok, we’re still one credit short of our mundunugu degree). The point is, we’ve spent years building a network of sources and resources (yeah, we know people who know people), and all of it — all the experience, all the preparation, all the vision, all the give-and-take, all of it shows in the finished product.

So don’t be surprised if you end up with a promotion and a spiffy pyramid-shaped acrylic award when it’s all over. Seriously.

The Company We Keep

We love to have fun, but when it gets right down to it we take our work—your work—seriously. The partners here at Gate House have worked on projects for such major brands and companies as:

Sarah Slattenow

Producer, Partner

Meticulously compact, these two words pretty much say it all. I get things done. I enjoy making sure all the i’s are dotted and all the t’s are crossed. Whether it’s producing, writing, body painting talent or tracking down a talking bird, I’ve done it all over the past 18 years. And at the end of the day I make sure all the scalpels are accounted for. Oh, and I really am kind of small without my heels on.

Erich Ernst

Photographer, Partner

I’ve worked nearly every position on still photography and film/video production crews and here’s what I’ve learned: From the rain forest to the boardroom, rendering plant or tall corn; regardless of people or product; through determination, collaboration, blunt force trauma, ego-maniacal insistence or calm consideration… there is always a way to get the job done. Research and development pay off on launch day. But enough philosophy, wanna talk soccer?

Rick Amundson

Director/DP, Partner

Actor, director, cinematographer, dancer, amusement park entertainer and technology geek. These are just a few of the words that describe my nearly 30 year journey in this crazy industry. I enjoy mixing art and technology to tell stories and solve problems. Whether it’s discussing the pros and cons of 4K or exploring the 6 universal conflicts of man, I’m ready to scrub in anytime,  if you can pull me off the golf course or the lake that is.
